When you travel to Thailand you will drink soon or later this amazing herbal tea well known for his indigo color and properties. At the Warriors House is a daily ritual to start the day boosting our system with this majestic herb.

We make our caffeine-free herbal tea with the Clitoria Ternatea flower that grows amazingly wild in the garden.

Coffee still a need to open the eyes in the morning and to start our day, and I would like to add, we are Italians and good food and coffee or wine is always more than welcome in our routine. Adding more healthy ingredients is a plus.

Traditionally, Clitoria ternatea is used for cooking as a vegetable, for colouring food naturally and as a tea, but this is not all. Butterfly pea is used in many cosmetics too.

Consumed for centuries and recognized by the traditional ayurvedic medicine, the butterfly pea, also called Asian Pigeon Wings, Blue Bell Vine, Blue Pea, Cordofan Pea and Darwin pea, is a memory enhancer, brain booster, anti-stress and has a calmative agent. Full of antioxidants the flower increases blood flow to the capillaries of the eyes improving the eyesight, and will help the collagen production, the skin looks more fresh and younger; rich in bioflavonoids, can promote hair growth and reduce greying of hair.

Last but not the last and even more interesting for women: Butterfly Pea has been traditionally used as an aphrodisiac and used to treat menstruation problems or white vaginal discharg. Perhaps this is due to his form that resemble a woman’s genitals.

Other qualities recognized are memory enhancing, nootropic, antistress, anxiolytic, antidepressant, anticonvulsant, tranquilizing, and sedative properties.

We started drinking it to refresh the thai hottest day, and for his abilities in changing his colour, it’s magic! Just add a little drop of lemon and from blue it becomes purple.
